Different Boiler types and How they Operate

Large industrial sized boilers are welded together with robust steel plates which have been uniquely designed to withstand intense heat and pressure, and as a result known to weigh anything up to 165 tons! That is a mighty big strong boiler!

But how are boilers actually put to use? Most of us know that there’s something being boiled, (what else with a name like that?!) and something is getting heated, but how exactly do they work?

Old Fashioned Solid Boilers are Definitely Toilers   

Boilers are commonly used to make water and/or steam for different commercial processes. They are used as part of a heating system or by themselves to heat up water. You can typically see them being used in places like bakeries, factories and breweries etc.

Maintenance is Definitely a Must

About once annually or maybe even more often to be on the safe side, the boiler should be drained of its contents, properly flushed out and then all of the hand-holes should be opened for a proper cleaning. You can whilst this is taking place, fit new gaskets, and replace any hand-hole covers which need replacing before refilling the boiler.
